One performance that I was impressed with: I thought Olive's presentation was really interesting. Acting physically and/or mentally based on influencer culture is a phenomenon I've done and have observed others to do also, so I really enjoyed learning about her research of this as a common experience and the theory behind it. As brought up in class, I wonder if performing influencer culture is a new phenomenon, seen only amongst our generation, or if older generations have enacted similar embodiments of mass-culture in their physical and mental performances (supermodel culture, Hollywood culture, etc) One performance or presentation that taught me something new: I thought Adia's presentation about the various archives for black hair on youtube was really insightful and very cool in the way that these archives become a cultural and personal repertoire for her and other women.
